lifeguard collars, harnesses & leashes

I just had to write this review because this product has had such a profound impact on my life and I needed to share it with other people who may be in a desperate situation, like z mine. 15 months ago we adopted a 112 pound Mastiff mix from a local shelter. Although we immediately put him on a leash, we just couldn't stop him from charging when he saw a cat or other dog walking by. I've tried everything from loose lines to soft lines and nothing has worked. I was told to use positive reinforcement when he saw the trigger, but I couldn't even get his attention when he saw red, let alone calm him down enough to take the treat! It got to the point where I was afraid to walk with him because he was so strong when he was shaking that I was afraid he would run away and hurt someone or something. Not walking him will only lead to additional misbehavior at home and I was honestly willing to give him a new home. As a last resort, I called a behavioral specialist who recommended I try this collar in addition to any other workouts he wanted me to do. I've only been using it for a week and the difference is amazing. If he starts to get distracted, I can give him a quick command and get his attention with very slight correction, just a little. Our walks are so calm and it's so easy to repeat commands while walking. Today we passed dogs barking at gates, dogs barking off leashes, people on bikes, cats (anything that would have upset him before) but I was able to quickly give him a heel, sit down and help me command watch and was great no problem! It is such a tool along with a behavior change plan that has seriously kept my dog in my home and I am so grateful.
