Review on Danforth Dragonfly Pewter Infuser Handcrafted by Anita Fernandez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost as advertised

I spend a lot of time finding products that are NOT made in China because I personally don't like supporting concentration camps. Just a private matter. Also, I don't like inferior products, especially when they come into contact with food. For example a teapot. I was so happy to find this product because 1) it's beautiful, 2) it's advertised as made in the USA (at least I thought so), and 3) it's made of pewter (at least I thought so). Dragonfly as advertised; beautiful and definitely pewter. However, the teapot and chain are not made of pewter. In fact, they look like they are made out of very cheap metal. Often this indicates that they are made in China. I re-read the fine print of that ad and in fact the secondary description inadvertently mentions that the strainer is actually 'stainless steel'. . More importantly, the ball is made of very poor quality metal, with a lot of ripples and bumps on the surface (I know metal). Also, the ball and chain I received looks worse than the photo. I highly doubt this is made in the USA. The problem is not only that China is not the country I want to support, but if it is made anywhere other than the US it may not be made of stainless steel as advertised and may contain lead, arsenic or something else. You don't want to brew your own tea, so I wanted a US-made pewter tea infuser. Instead, I got a cheap metal teapot and a chain pretending to be stainless steel, probably made in China, attached to a beautiful handcrafted pewter locket. Since you listed "stainless steel" in the sub-description below, I can't call you for that. chain finished? I want a refund if they were made somewhere other than the US. Either that or you send me tin or stainless steel from the USA. If you confirm to me that all of this is actually made in the USA I will amend and update this review. If it's made in China or you don't reply, I can proceed as false advertising if it's not made. Correctly.
