These flashlights are very light, bright and compact. Even if they seem a bit cheap, they can handle any table photo. Because of their small size, they are really good for traveling. I also like that they can also be used on large light stands with the right adapter. This is a big plus. Can't really comment on upgrades because you have to remember what you're using these lights for. It's about getting the right tools for the right job. So if you need something strong and then a glowing product I would suggest something else. But for small flashlights, these things are a good idea to add to your main gear.
