After spending about 3 hours searching the internet for a good heater, I finally decided this heater would match my in-line filter for my 8 gallon tank. Appearance: beautiful design. , very attractive so not an eyesore if it was visible in the tank. Nice clean adjustable knob that makes it easy to set the temperature by turning it and it turns red to indicate the temperature is being set. Accuracy: To be honest it's not very accurate in setting, it's about 6 degrees above normal, I set it to 78, and it was 84 inches. My tank is right in line with my hottest tropical fish. In our house we keep about 72. I have measured with a very accurate cooking thermometer in several places in my aquarium, all my water showed a constant temperature of 84.6 throughout the aquarium. I lowered my nob to 72 and after a daily adjustment it barely showed 74. So I increased it to 74 and eventually got it to 78.7 which was more than I wanted for the tank. But that's only a 4 degree increase. I think it's not the internal temperature reader but the timer which is programmed to adjust the timer setting. That's my guess. My concern is if this will end up killing my fish. Chill them to death 🥺. I've seen that before. I just have a simple hobby so I will take a chance because after adjusting the temperature it will even out and the water will be constant. However - if I were a breeder. Damn I would return it! Too inconsistent. So overall I'll leave it at that, but I wouldn't in my right mind recommend this product for any other fishing hobby due to the risk involved. Such a beautiful design, but the function is definitely lacking.
