Review on 🧇 Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel 2-Slice Belgian Waffle Maker with Browning Control, Indicator Lights, Non-Stick Coating, Compact Design (26009) by Alicia Thomas

I've never made waffles before and decided to start over and try a cheaper model. Well I guess you get what you pay for! I read all the instructions and took the advice to oil the panels first and then spray a little each time. Unfortunately, no matter what I did, the bottom was nicely cooked and golden and the top was completely burned (see photo). It was cooked on the lowest setting and when I cooked it less the center wasn't cooked. I was ready to think I might have done something wrong and ask for advice, so I tried calling Hamilton Beach customer service. They said it would take about 18 minutes. I waited an HOUR AND 17 MINUTES! When I finally got through, the support rep was incredibly unhelpful, bordering on the rude. I just said back. When I asked if this was a common problem with this model, she simply said she didn't know because it was a newer model. So I'm sending it back and will never buy it from Hamilton Beach again!
