These speaker cables seem to work great (I used AWG 16). I used them to connect cheap Polk Audio speakers (T Series) to an entry-level Pioneer AV receiver (VSX-LX103 Elite). I've never done anything like this before, and in my experience it's very easy to strip wires with a cheap (but pretty good) wire stripper from a hardware store. I've also found that the cable twists very easily before it is inserted into the banana jacks for plugging into the back of an AV receiver, or for plugging into the jacks on the back of Polk Audio speakers (which don't accept banana jacks). The red stripe on the outside of the cable was very helpful in making sure I was following correct polarity, and I also found the cable to be surprisingly flexible. Finally, the sound of the system I set up is very, very good, and I don't hear any interference at all, despite the fact that there are many other electrical wires touching and/or very, very close to the speaker wires. on the back of the TV. All I can say is that this speaker cable is really good and the price seems fair (I paid $15 for 50 feet).
