They're very reasonably priced and offer fairly good, if somewhat limited, protection. The fact that they are made of a fairly soft and shock-absorbing material is offset by the relatively small surface area, resulting in a not very well-distributed door impact. I've found that with soft walls, drywall, etc, the bumper just rests against the wall. The best option for these applications may be thin, wide wall guards from 3 to 5 inches. These bumpers work better when trying to protect a structurally strong wall from cosmetic dents or door sills.
