A little over a month later broke down in the heat of the day and Amazon did not help

I received this air conditioner in a box that had no bottom so it cannot be returned if needed. The Ac is in the foam packing material which is also on the bottom of the box. and fastened with strong ties. I had to pay a handyman $25 to install it as I can't even lift it. After about 5 weeks it stopped blowing cold air and then started beeping. the same squeaking as when pressing the buttons on the control panel. Approximately every 15 minutes there will be a long, random series of beeps of up to 30 beeps. The pattern is different each time, so this is not an error code. The sound signal makes it impossible to sleep with it at night. The heatwave makes shut down impossible as we are older, have health issues and live in a motor home which is very hot with no air conditioning. I contacted Amazon support via live chat and was routed through 7 different people and after over an hour of my time I was only told to contact Haier when the return window closed. Why couldn't the first person just say it instead of walking around me. Terrible service. Haier will just say pack it up and pay big bucks to get it back like I actually have boxes that fit in a Β£70 air conditioner. I cannot recommend this AC to anyone. Buy another brand with a better guarantee and really recommend buying through Amazon as they sell them but not worth vouching for, even for a customer like me who has been shopping on Amazon for 10+ years and pays a monthly membership fee. Or at least I did. TO UPDATE. I contacted Hyer. The first call stayed on hold for an hour speaking to a woman who was very rude. She told me that there was no one near me who could service the air conditioner and that I would have to wait 48 hours while they tried to find someone to service it and that I would get an answer from them. A week has passed and I finally have to call again. I spent 2.5 hours waiting and when I finally spoke to another woman I was told that the first woman had never done a service search in my area and that I would have to wait another 48 hours while they tried to get someone in to find my region. for AS service. I was assured that she would call me back in 2 days. 3 days later NO CALL. I then received an automated email from GE saying no one was found to service in my area and I would get a reply from the second woman I spoke to earlier in 2 days. A week has passed and still no call back. Nothing has been done. GE/Haier has the worst customer service. They did nothing to fix/replace the AC or refund my money. They just hope that I'll give up and go. Meanwhile, I experience the hottest summer in history without air conditioning. SECOND UPDATE. It is not the end of September yet and nothing has been done to fix or replace the faulty air conditioning. Haier never answered my calls. I've called them 4 times, each time they tell me it takes them 48 hours to find a repair company near me and after that they call me back but never do. What good is a guarantee if it doesn't live up to it. They know there's nothing I can do, which is why I don't have $410 and have now gone all summer without air conditioning. Revain should be ashamed to sell products to this Chinese company that doesn't honor their warranty.
