my girlfriend and I were surprised at how bright the light was. We live in the country on five acres and in our pitch black backyard this light is really bright! I'm sure it's not that impressive in the city with street and ambient lighting, but it was just what our dog needed. I got tired of losing him in the yard because he was black at night when he walked with me and I think he got tired of having to stay a meter away from me because it was so dark. watch him learn to use it. He didn't stray far at first because it took him a while to realize that the flashlight was attached to him and he didn't have to stay close to avoid losing it as I usually carry a flashlight with me when i'm on place at night. Pretty soon he realized that he could turn around and point his chest/lower neck at objects to see them. The best part was when he realized how to look up and light things up so he could see them too. It's like he's discovered a whole new garden! Now he has the courage to explore the forest and the weeds where he doesn't go during the day. Even through the thickest weeds and scrub on our wooded stretch, it was almost impossible not to miss where it was. It was actually easier to tell where he was at night than during the day!
