I bought 2 of them. You enter the space between the screen and the sliding glass door. It fits well and since the ends are sturdy we had no problem moving it around at this point. The gate is easy to open and we bought it over a dog proof door as it limits the view. I had to return the other one I bought. The problem is a design flaw. The product comes with 2 extensions of different sizes for different areas. This is a great idea though as the brackets you use to attach the gate to the wall are not stable when fully extended you will need to lengthen the gate. However, the gate extension will not fit until the bracket area is fully expanded. The problem is that when the arms are fully extended, the arms detach and the gate moves. The clamps are not tightened, but at the end entering the gate they move. Presumably this is so you can mount the gate on a variety of surfaces, so the two sides don't have to be square or flat. If you open a gate, especially in one direction, all gates will fall down. My husband said the design could be improved with modifications, but why all this when the gate should be working at full capacity? We have tried this to prevent our new dog from climbing stairs but it was too dangerous and mostly non-functional. Merely opening the gate, or even a child leaning against it, can cause the entire structure to fall, which is very dangerous when it comes to preventing accidents or access. I would rate it a 2 but a 3 as I can only use it in one area.
