I have used it many times to cook chicken for my dog. It's really light and high quality, with battery covers that barely stay open so it slides across the counter meaning it can fall on the floor. Batteries fly out when falling to the ground. I kept putting it back together and putting it back together and setting it up again. Nothing happens when heating the meat. The screen flickers and that's it. There is no beep or anything to alert you, so you have to be careful all the time. I figured the point of a thermometer like this was to make it so you don't have to hover over what you're cooking. The thermometer only has a preset target temperature (although it has options like Done Well Done or Well Done Beef I think). So if you want to use that for something like yogurt, it doesn't work unless I'm missing something important. It doesn't tell you the temperature, so it's not ideal for yogurt anyway. This thermometer really tells you how hot it is, and from afar, which is why I'm giving it a few stars. But I wish the quality was much better.
