Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Plumbcraft 7027700LF Dishwasher Installation Kit in White - Compatible with Most Dishwashers by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I've seen. Fits dishwasher parts and accessories

I don't know why the plumber chose the chrome brass siphon S for the sink. Zinc can leach into sewage, causing brass to rot until it crumbles. When mine broke, Revain delivered the plastic within 36 hours. It seemed faint, but when I examined it I was satisfied. Like polypropylene. It doesn't need to be as thick as PVC as it is less brittle. It cannot be painted or glued as almost nothing sticks. Perhaps this will clear the trap of debris. I thought the included extension would unnecessarily complicate the installation. I changed my mind when trying to insert the pipe into the floor joint. Inserting an extension shortened a few pipes so I could route them under the sink. Then I lengthened it to the height I needed. To avoid constant leaks from deformed pipe ends or washers, I left all the nuts slightly loose to allow one connection to be aligned by rotating or sliding the others. When everything looked well aligned, I hand tightened the nuts. Then I put the coffee can under the trap. After 72 hours, the pipes and jug were still dry. Success! On the old brass trap, the bottom of the top bend was 2.5 inches higher than the top of the bottom bend. This is typical of S traps I've seen. Sufficient suction is required to lift the water 2.5 inches to pull the water out of the trap. The PlumbCraft trap is much higher. The bottom of the top bend is 5 inches above the top of the bottom bend. As a result, twice as much suction power is required to empty the siphon. I've never seen a siphon dry out this way, but I've smelled sewer gas from unused showers, sinks, and toilets after dried siphons have evaporated. PlumbCraft holds more water than others I've seen so will take longer to dry when not in use. Setting it up as a P-trap would probably be just as beneficial. I don't know why they aren't all made that way.

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Some problems
