Review on ASUS PG329Q: 2560X1440P DisplayPort DisplayHDR, 175Hz Refresh Rate, Flicker-Free & Adjustable - A Comprehensive Review by Jason Wolf

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Terrible uniformity. Still good for gaming.

This monitor is not what I expected from an IPS display. and it's not a typical IPS panel. However, it is located in the IPS class. The center of the display is great when it's working. (It's very broken at times and very dark, opening a game like Division2 seems to fix this) However, the edges can be very dark compared to the center, which doesn't make using the desktop that great, pretty bad actually. (my benq 27" zowie 1440p 144hz has a TN panel from a few years ago and looks better) feature wise this thing is pretty well equipped and you'll probably like the color it offers. but the panel overall it really suffers a lot The backlight is uneven it feels like the center of the display is sticking out at you and the edges are folded back lol one person thought it was a book in one of the photos i posted However, this isn't in the photos.Only in person you can see how awful it actually looks..It's pretty bad, especially for the price Asus is asking.I've had over 10 monitors in the 100-4200 range $$ and it's the worst uniformity I've seen.. But it's for gaming, HDR looks good (not perfect but not too bad either) The best thing about this display is that I have almost no flicker . And the pixel reaction in the delivery state is really very good. almost no ghosting / smearing I'm very satisfied so far and the performance of their games. 175Hz OC w works well and I would recommend using it. (which is why I think I might just leave it, I like what it offers in games). It should be 550 USD. I paid 750, 800 after taxes. I had no intention of keeping this monitor to myself at first as the previous owner probably sent it back for being opened and closed again. The shipping labels were cut off the box. This was to be sold as an OPEN BOX device. Not new. I think I could return it just for that, but then I wouldn't have this monitor. And honestly, it still looks new, no need to talk about dmg. Oh I thought I should add speakers that DO NOT WORK. At least not with the supplied DP cable, I haven't tested it with HDMI. It's not very good in general, but it's good for gaming. I'd say if you can get it for less than $600 you'll be happy with it.
