Review on ASUS PG329Q: 2560X1440P DisplayPort DisplayHDR, 175Hz Refresh Rate, Flicker-Free & Adjustable - A Comprehensive Review by Chris Yarborough

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great display with great features!

This monitor is excellent and a worthy successor to my PG278Q and worthy of the Swift name. Adaptive sync, ELMB SYNC and overclocking work great. I don't see any blur or cracks. The IPS panel shows very little bleeding and glowing. Colors look deep and vibrant. It comes factory calibrated. The aura lighting is great, but I didn't notice it in normal use. The matte finish looks nice and smoothes out the glare a bit, even with bright light behind me. I bought it because I couldn't get used to the 34" Ultra Wide Monitor (LG 34GP83A-B). This is also a fantastic monitor, but it was just too wide and uncomfortable. For nVidia users: make sure Make sure G-Sync is enabled Set the frame rate limit to at least 3 frames below the display's maximum refresh rate, i.e. 162 fps at 165 Hz or 172 fps at 175 Hz Turn on low latency mode Enable V -SYNC in NVCP but *not* in games. Make sure the mouse polling rate is 1000Hz. This ensures a smooth gaming experience, minimizes input lag and improves the gaming experience. I have to say that the stand is a bit is deep and doesn't sit very well on my desk. Instead I use the Revain Basics Floating Bracket. It works perfectly and I can move the display where I want. The Windows HDR implementation is absolute rubbish and should not be compared to what you see on a high-end television. There are many competing standards and they all look different. IF HDR looks like junk on your monitor, it's related to the operating system and the game, not your display. DisplayPort 1.2 is more than adequate for this monitor with its native resolution and maximum refresh rate of 2560 x 1440 x 175 Hz. DP1.4 is not needed on this device. DP1.2 has a maximum throughput of 21.6 Gbps. This monitor requires a maximum of 19.35 Gbps at 175 Hz and 8 bits per pixel. In my photos, the window curtains at the back left are slightly open, so there is some glare on the screen. The third photo is NOT powdered.
