Review on πŸ‘• Conair Turbo Extreme Steam Handheld Fabric Steamer - White/Champagne, One Size by Jose Haskin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As if I entered a new level of civilization.

This is the best home appliance I've found in years. I just moved into an old house. I had to throw away all the curtains that had accumulated over twenty years of cooking with dust and grease, buy new ones and put them up. But the new curtains were all crumpled and I had to straighten them out. So I did a little research, spent more and got more. This is a super handheld steamer. I've straightened my curtains and can even iron my favorite cotton t-shirts. It takes longer than ironing them, but it's safer for me because I'm not very good at ironing, and for every four or five folds I iron, I accidentally iron another one. That cannot happen with this steam cooker. Three very small flaws. First, it goes through the water quickly in "Turbo" mode (but "Turbo" mode smooths out creases on the curtains). I have to top up often and use water from my drinking water supply because my plumbing is in poor condition and I don't want particles getting into the mechanism. Second, it can get heavy after many minutes of continuous exposure to curtains when they are new and wrinkled, or cotton that requires a lot of heat to iron out the creases. Third, the power indicator requires you to look at it directly from the front of the device. You can't see if this vapor generator is on or off when you look at it from every angle. In other words, the only way you can see it's "ready" to vaporize is when the vapor is directed into your eyes. To me, this is a small but manageable design flaw. But if you have new curtains and want a steamer that you can hold in your hand and put on a shelf, I think this is probably best and worth it. extra money compared to cheaper brands.
