It's winter now, time to skyrocket the electricity bill every time the temperature drops below 45 SE I have a heat pump in my house, but by the age of 45 the heating tapes will come on and be much more expensive to run. Since I spend 90% of my time in one room, it makes sense not to heat the whole house. There are currently about three smart heaters on the market. Aside from Howie, there are reviews saying it's cheap and a third product seems to be just a wall mount which isn't what I'm looking for. This heater looks nice but does not have a built in thermostat only low/medium/high but this feature can easily be added by another Govee product for just a little more money. I thought it would be difficult to get everything to work the way I want, but it wasn't at all. The Govee app needs to pair an external hygro/thermometer and once this is done additional options will appear in the heating section to turn the heating on and off when the set temperatures (sent by the external thermometer) are reached. The advantage of this arrangement is that the external thermometer can be placed where you are and not where the heater is, actually giving you the temperature you want, unaffected by the heat generated by the heater. The price I paid is a bit high for a heater, but it's a very good heater with all the control features that the app offers. It's true that you can't ask Google to raise the room temperature, but most of us carry our phones with us. always anyway, right?
