Having owned several devices of this type I found that they break down very easily. I haven't owned this blower long enough to speak of its durability, but the performance and build quality are top notch. This block is RELIABLE. All other frothers I've owned (even the most expensive ones) had very brittle shafts that were prone to bending, causing the swirler head to rotate off-axis and therefore being less efficient. The thicker metal wire used in this model gives me confidence that if not abused, the spinning shaft will stay perfectly straight for a long time. Tip: Keep the foam insert from the packaging as a storage solution to keep the blower straight. In terms of performance, I spent far more time than I needed comparing various competitors because they promised faster turning speeds. This unit tops out at 15,000 rpm, well below the 20,000 rpm promised by other brands, but turns out that's a case of smoke and mirrors, because without high torque (i.e. a powerful motor) your 20,000 will fly RPM rapidly out the window when the frother meets the resistance of warm milk. This device is powerful enough to whip not only milk but also thicker dairy products and I assume it will be possible to even whip eggs although I haven't tried it. Frothing milk is very quick, but for best results follow these simple instructions: heat milk to 165F, use whole milk if possible, tilt the cup when you start. These dipped foamers tend to have a short lifespan so in some cases I have to revisit this review to confirm the item's help, but so far I'm very happy with the item.
