Great bag with small annoyances

I finally got this bag to replace my Swiss college bag. It copes surprisingly well with my two 14-inch laptops while still leaving plenty of room for other things. Lots of pockets, great design, great build quality. The main criticism is the lack of a side bottle holder and that you can't stand on it. ---- I have both 1st gen (grey Hudson) and 2nd gen (black Mata). Here's a quick comparison, apart from the Meta's improved shoulder strap (the Hudson shoulder strap broke after 2 weeks!) and the extra jacket/tripod clip. Appearance: Meta more durable, nylon. Hudson looks like suede. Feels comfortable but starts to age after 3 months of use. Lining: Hudson's lining is more durable, while Meta's is very smooth and smooth. The Meta feels stiffer, the Hudson runs quieter and smoother. Maybe it's because it hasn't "run in" yet. Rear Look: Hudson feels a little better, with more leather feel, although it looks almost the same as the Meta. Maybe due to age. Grips: Meta's grip seems to be much stronger than Hudson's, especially in the ankle area. Padded back (between quick access laptop pocket and main compartment). This is my biggest complaint, hard plastic/cardboard was added in between to keep the shape but because of this the bag couldn't stand up anymore. I was able to ditch the Hudson with no problem, which is completely impossible with the Meta. Overall I gave the bag 5 stars, still great quality, much better handles, shoulder strap attachment compared to Hudson and the elastic strap is a great addition. The quality of the lining, the look and the zipper will show over time. The only downside is that it's of slightly inferior construction to the Hudsthe and has that awful cardboard padding.
