Our bedroom faces East toward the morning sun and our living room faces West, we have an older home with single pane windows and have suffered from the heat when the sun shines on either side of the house. Our blinds didn't do much and we ended up getting cheap-o curtains at first but knew we'd need something else, so over the YEARS I have hunted for true room cooling, blackout curtains. I was initially skeptical because even in store 'blackout' curtains didn't actually block out any light, but we needed to do something for our bedroom and living room. When I ordered these I was ready to return them once I opened one and saw that it, too, didn't measure up. But low and behold these curtains did the trick! Our rooms are decidedly cooler and darker and we couldn't be more satisfied!Edit: 3/28/22 - I just wanted to put this here to say that these curtains are STILL the best! We have them all over our house, we enclosed our patio and added two windows, I immediately ordered these curtains in Navy. I am now going to order another set for my computer/craft room.
