This is really a 5 star rating, set to 4 to get your attention: I have it Bought to replace a broken fluorescent light bulb. Instead I bought the photographer recommended LEDs but you need 4 of these special LEDs in your photo light to compensate for this so you have to convert these to hold 4 of them. Anyway, I screwed them in and finally found that these particular flash holders had a small protrusion that interfered with the extension cord. Once we figured that out, we got an extension cord (for about $3) and all is good. They are very durable and very well made. I recommend them for whatever you use them for, but don't think they're broken if they don't work right out of the box. Maybe they just don't get in touch (it's not their fault) :)
