Quiet! We bought these to replace my daughter's noisy old bikes. As long as it's so quiet Installation was a bit painful. I had to saw off the black parts on top because they were too tall for a 16" bike and I cut into the chain area rendering the bike unusable. It's nice that they work with any size, but I didn't expect to have to cut and dice them to actually use them.
