Revainrating 4 out of 5

Color 4 is NOT red. The review is long but probably worth reading.

Ok I like it, I really like it but I have a few complaints. Color 4 does not have the slightest bit of red as can be seen in the seller's picture. You can see it in my picture but I forgot to take a picture of it BEFORE I started painting the damn thing and I'm really sorry about that. I was in fix-before-the-weekend mode and just wasn't thinking. The color is very similar to Halloween orange and black and I hope the synthetic fiber color works. I don't know what it's made of, but it can't be a natural fiber. My money is on polyester but I honestly have no idea. The color is really the only big issue I have. As for the fit, which I was REALLY concerned about, I have 2x tops, 3x bottoms (22 pants depending on the cut) and I ordered because. Well, that's exactly what we big girls do when we order online, right? I can get it to work but I had to order 3 times. I put it on without the zipper because I just didn't know it even had a zipper so it stretches a lot. I tried it on with a skirt and petticoat (a crinoline would be more comfortable I think) and there was enough room. I'm glad it's not too small. Sometimes we come across Asian sizes when trying to find things like this and you end up wasting your money. It's not like this. A bow at the back is not a bow at all. These are two pieces of fabric folded and sewn so that the tabs of the bow fold on their own. However, I think it underscores the hustle effect. Historically, bustle is a garment worn with dresses designed to accentuate the buttocks, not the skirt style as we know it today. So it's not a problem, it just looks like a bow in the seller's picture. If you want it to be a loop, you'll need to sew up a bit. Speaking of sewing, I washed it on my fabric dye according to the instructions and had to sew one of the buttons back on. Again, no, it's not a big deal, it's just something to be aware of. I wear this to the mystery dinner and then maybe to the convention. If you're a cosplayer and you're at a con or a carnival all day and you're moving or wearing things, or maybe wearing a corset or straps, then you need to reinforce those buttons. The structure of the dress is solid, heavy, but that's due to the layering and ruffles at the back. It doesn't fold like cheap suit skirts, you may just need to adjust it a bit to get the best experience out of it. Overall I'm mostly satisfied, but I'm glad I didn't spend more on it than I did.
