Awesome looking well built mid range Z490 motherboard. But the MSI BIOS stinks

**UPDATE**After posting this first review I have updated my build with EK AIO 360 D-RGB and my fans through 3 families by EK Vardar replaces Evo D chassis -RGB and they work great, I highly recommend. Aside from the fact that these EK fans are EXTREMELY quiet (remember I came from Noctua fans in my previous build and Noctua NH-D15 in my previous build and in this build), they move A LOT of air , AND the RGB looks amazing (up to 2200rpm and very quiet, I literally can't hear anything outside of my case, and while the glass side helps with that, the noise from outside the pump is minimal). I installed the AIO as a front air intake (my case won't fit a 360 radiator anywhere else in my case) with the fans closest to the front of the case letting fresh air through them, then a cooler in my case and two on top and 1 rear exhaust. I also have 1 Noctua NF-P12 redux 1700rpm PWM fan working as a bottom air intake. I have attached photos and videos of the new AIO and fans. The Noctua NH-D15 Chromax was a great cooler, but unfortunately it pressed against the glass of my case where I couldn't screw the window down and if I did I risked bending the motherboard or damaging the CPU/socket . . I also decided to drop the NH-D15 due to its size, in a case like Meshify C it's EXTREMELY difficult to do anything because this cooler is so big and the case is one of the smallest mid-towers. . I am very happy with the results. **Original Review** I've been a consumer of ASUS motherboards my entire life since I started building my own computers at the age of 12, apart from the fact that I bought 1 ABIT board early on when they launched a produce a solid product. . Unfortunately, it looks like ASUS' lead in features, build quality, and looks has faded over time as companies like MSI and Gigabyte (AORUS) catch up. I'm 32 now and this is the first non-Asus motherboard I've owned in about 2 decades and surprisingly I've had very few negative reviews about it. Overall I'm very impressed with this board, it has fantastic build quality and for those who built their last rig in 2015 (pre-mainstream RGB) this board offers the option of a sleek, carbon/dim look alike to get my Asus Z97. -AR while still providing hints of RGB for those who want it. The carbon theme is GREAT on this board, even when you look at motherboards in the next price bracket, "enthusiast" level boards if you will, nothing looks better, and has the quality of a board like the Z490 Gaming Carbon not improving. I'm fully aware that this is not an entry-level board, nor is it a high-end board, but the value for money you get with this board leads me to believe that it's easily one of the most popular socket Z490 motherboards out there will be . This motherboard is a pair. c:i9-10850K32GB DDR4 3600MHz C16 Ballistix RGBCorsair RM850xEVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB(Coming soon)WD Black SN750 NVMe 500GBADATA XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe 500GBNoctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black(Coming soon)Fractal Design Meshify C Tempered Glass Case Inside. Embedded I/O is a BIG step and should be done by ALL MOTHERBOARDS regardless of price. This makes for a much better installation and also improves the overall quality feel. Also, MSI ensures USB capabilities are included for most current USB standards with the exception of Thunderbolt3. USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and USB 3.2 2x2 Type-C are displayed on the rear I/O panel. Also included is a Realtek 2.5G network card and an integrated Intel AX200 Wifi6 card with moveable antennas. VRMs are 12+2, 12 for the CPU and 2 for the memory, and they are covered with heatsinks that match the board's theme. There is a heat pipe between the radiators and lots of fins for additional cooling. The carbon fiber theme on the board is plentiful in this area of the board and MSI has done a good job of making it look like real carbon fiber. The VRMs glow with RGB lighting when the board is powered on. One thing I found a bit out of place is 2 M.2 heatsinks. They don't go well with the no-nonsense carbon fiber theme of the rest of the board in my opinion. However, since I have a Western Digital Black NVMe (SN750) SSD with an EK heatsink, I found it matched the theme of the board as if it was made specifically for it. I will attach photos. I'm also currently using a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black, which fits well with the overall theme but makes it difficult to connect to the board in a Fractal Meshify C case. I'll be switching to an EK AIO 360 soon. The motherboard has a typical 8+4 rating for the processor in the top left corner of the board and multiple fan headers (6 to be exact) for those like me who use air as a cooling method. MSI also does a good job of connecting ARGB, RGB and Corsair RGB headers all over the board, 2 each. In the lower right corner of the board you will find the chipset and chipset cooler labeled "Carbon" and an MSI -Dragon surrounded by carbon fiber and sharp, diagonal, heatsink-like edges. It glows with RGB lighting when the board is powered on. This and the VRM are the only two places the motherboard has onboard RGB lighting, and for those who opt for the all-black design, it can be turned off in the Dragon Center. The top 2 PCIe x16 slots are well made and have metal shields, but the third is not. I could go on and on about the quality, look and feel of this board and for $270 it is fantastic value. You get a lot of extras for the extra $100 you spend on an entry-level Z490 board. Before I close, however, I must comment on MSI's terrible apology for the BIOS. While I understand what MSI was trying to achieve with a very clickable graphics BIOS, this clickable graphics BIOS is much less of a bloated pain in the neck for users who have been using the more classic "Advanced" (NON EZMODE) style of BIOS for years customizable than it should be. In my opinion, ADVANCED mode should be just that, FOR ADVANCED USERS, and not intended for users who typically don't know what they're doing and need interactive icons to help. Such things are well and good for EZMODE, but they should be removed from Advanced Mode entirely. There are default settings that you can find with a little logic on almost every other motherboard manufacturer that are almost impossible to find due to MSI's terrible BIOS. PS: I'm waiting for Nvidia to release their 30 series cards before upgrading from my GTX 960. I KNOW. THAT IS OLD.
