These headphones have received excellent reviews, with displays claiming up to 35dB of noise reduction. My estimate is maybe 10dB max. For me it's just barely noticeable. I have to say that the similar Apple Airpods didn't cancel out noise very well for me. Although my Sony MDR-1000x noise canceling over-ear headphones work for me. Another problem I had was changing earbuds. There were no instructions on how to do this, so I pulled them out (difficult). Then I couldn't get the small size I wanted to stay. I was able to turn the environment back on, but that wasn't enough for me. Maybe some of them are not quite suitable. I do not know. i give it back
