My house was built in 1923 and is my first line of defense against water entering my home. I live in the old and busy part of town. The area is constantly under construction. As the property is listed for sale, as a homeowner or buyer you will need to update the plumbing. All this disturbance in the ground loosens the "dirt" in the systems and I found that my filter needed to be changed every month. I'm so glad I posted this. I have finer filter systems for drinking in the kitchen and it saves me money because these filters can last a year or two without replacement.
