My laptop wouldn't boot because the whole system was corrupted. SMART didn't work and I had to buy new internal storage which is why I found it at such a great price. It has the same specifications as my original hard drive, of course it doesn't look like the original, but it worked great. I reinstalled Windows and it was able to boot again.
