Review on Transfer Layflat Adhesive American Made Application by Linda Diaz

TLDR: Works well, no sticky residue. Disclaimer: I am not using this product for its intended purpose. I use it to mask plywood for laser cutting. I make some fairly elaborate candle holders and I need something that will stick well so the edges don't curl when cut and that comes off fairly easily and doesn't leave a mark. I tried masking tape, it sucks. It took a long time to roll it out to the right length. It stuck very well but left sticky marks on the intricately cut pieces. It sucks too. This type of product was recommended on the forums for my laser cutter, so I decided to give it a try. I was a little put off by the reviews saying it keeps tearing, but the expensive roll of duct tape didn't work and cost more. I tried. I had to unwind about 14 inches of tape, line up the roll with the plywood, tape the far edge, then smooth down to the other end, then make sure there were no bubbles. It was much easier than the other tape. Trying to unroll this tape without sticking to itself was the work of two people. This shipping tape was easy to unroll to the right length and once it stuck to itself I was able to tear it apart easily I taped both sides of the 15 pieces of plywood myself. No help needed! and with a little effort I was able to continue. I noticed that there was one strip that seemed more difficult to unfold, but by gently tugging one edge and then the other edge it went through easily. I thought he was stored horizontally somewhere along the line and not at the end I will definitely be buying more when that runs out! I just need to find a tape dispenser!
