Valve spring tensioner worked perfectly after about 20 minutes of fine grinding. The foot is too large to fit all areas of the cylinder head and needs to be downsized. I removed about 1/4 inch from the tabs and the ball bearing cap on top also had to be ground to give the spring compressor enough travel to clear the rocker arm. In addition, the machining of the covers created burrs that had to be removed at the point where the ball bearing moves. Also, the bearing itself had to be flattened a bit to fit the cover easily. In short, it's faster to mod cheap tools than to wait for better tools.
