My work laptop has a great microphone, but half the communication apps we use have low voice volume. Tried different Bluetooth speakers. some with microphone, some with speaker only. but they all seemed to work every time with some apps (Zoom), sporadically/intermittently with others (Commands), and didn't work at all with some others (Mitel Softphone). I've tried playing around with the advanced audio settings and telling each app to use a specific BT device (no default settings), but the results have always been the same. So I decided to try the headphone jack. It looked a bit laggy and "dated" but I was annoyed with the Bluetooth results. Bought this soundbar, plugged it in and it just works! The sound was clear, loud (I had it on half volume) and worked with every app! If you're looking for something to rock your favorite hip-hop or dubstep tracks with, you should look for something a little heavier. but if you just want good, rich sound that's louder than your laptop speakers, this will do the trick.
