For many years I used one of the large drawstring suction cups. Everything worked fine, but the suction cup deformed over time and had to be replaced. This changer is made of thicker rubber and I expect it to last longer. It also has a very smart design that doesn't require a filament. Simply pulling down turns off the suction. Before changing a high suction cup, it's a good idea to practice to make sure you know how much pressure is required and feel when suction is reached. For my two 20ft lamps this worked perfectly.
