Review on ☕️ Presto 02835 MyJo Black Single Cup Coffee Maker: Enjoy Easy and Convenient Brewing by Mike Martz

Perfect for camping apart from the crappy valve

rating updated I downgraded from 4 stars to 1 star after using it on a 2 day group camping trip. First, I lost a tiny valve before the trip. I had to buy a replacement for $2 plus shipping. But it was my fault, so no complaints from me here. However, the design of the valve is so bad that the engineers should be ashamed. Every time you try to use it, the valve will pop out of the hole, causing the coffee grounds to be ejected from the pods into the water chamber. Each subsequent pump pumps that thickness through the chamber. What an ugly mess that makes. ===== I became aware of this design concept because there really aren't any good solutions for making coffee on the go. The french press is just filthy. Coffee machines are both dirty and sophisticated. Instant coffee sucks. Iced coffee in the morning doesn't work. This single hot water pump system works perfectly. Boil water in a pot over your morning fire, then pour it into MyJo. Hand pump for a delicious cup of coffee. Throw away the K-cup and repeat. Everyone can bring their favorite coffee. I compared coffee making with MyJo and my real Keurig machine side-by-side using the same K-Cup. I have to say I think the MyJo actually outperforms the Keurig machine. I took my time pumping the water and I think it created a fuller flavor. Things to note: Because the base of the device is on your cup and then you press down to pump water through the K cup. , your cup should be cute and sturdy. Definitely not over a paper cup. The valve is a small white piece that just falls into the hole and can come out fairly easily. You really have to be aware of that so you don't lose the valve. The "tank" for water has very little thermal insulation. The tank is bolted to the base. This isn't a problem if you pour boiling water into the tank after it's attached to the base, but if you microwave the water tank as shown in your video, the walls will get very hot. This makes it rather unsafe to handle, let alone screw it to the base. I was going to give this five stars but felt I had to snap one up because of the valve and hot water tank. Overall I'm very happy with this device and can't wait to take it on a hike.
