Review on Mikasa 3.25-Quart Glass Beverage Pitcher for Cheerful Refreshments by Nathan Vaughn

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Mikasa no longer produces old-fashioned quality glass. Thin and fragile; Spend your money elsewhere!

We have a set of 4 of the same old fashioned Mikasa glasses that we bought 8 or 10 years ago. We liked them so much we wanted to buy another set to bring the total to 8. They cost a little more than regular old fashioned glasses but it would be ok if they were the same quality as Mikasa before. These new glasses are basic and not worth the $40 they came with. You can buy glassware of similar quality but much cheaper from other companies. We have had the original glasses for many years and they are in excellent condition. This new set from Mikasa is thin and fragile. Two glasses broke within the first week of use. One broke when it accidentally hit a crystal wine glass and another in the sink while being hand washed. The photo provided shows the quality Mikasa previously made (right) and what I just received from them on this recent purchase (left). You can clearly see the glasses are much thinner and not as heavy or strong anymore. , as well as the note that they should be hand washed. I would never spend money on it again, let alone put it in the dishwasher.

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe, top shelf but hand wash recommended
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
