It works great in my application. I'm using it with an old MAG Innovision VGA monitor, switching between the receiver's HDMI output and the computer's graphics card. I have two monitors in my room and I use the 24" ASUS as my main monitor. The IoGear HDMI receiver receives the signal from my media room, which I watch on an old monitor with an HDMI to VGA converter, which in turn is connected to a junction box is plugged in. The bottom line is that I can watch NFL football in my home office and switch between my computer and the TV with this gem of a Switch.and the buttons work smoothly, if a bit noisy.It has metal dimples instead of rubber feet , so it doesn't tolerate much twitching without movement.As others have pointed out, the HDMI signal going to VGA needs to be set to a lower resolution.Experiments gave an acceptable picture (the proportions are slightly off).I don't know if this box will pass the highest resolution VGA signal, it worked at 1440 x 900. My monitor doesn't support 1600 resolution line, so it could I do not test the switch above 1440. This switch box does a good job of switching VGA inputs for most purposes. If you're dealing with higher resolutions, you should probably switch to DVI or HDMI. But until I upgrade the second monitor, this is an inexpensive solution to my problem.
