I purchased this item a few months ago and it worked great initially. I was able to set the temperature and then monitor the temperature with a digital thermometer which was amazing. Until I came home to a dead aquarium. My tank cichlids are set to 80 so I know how glass usually feels, but when I touched the glass it was very warm. The thermometer on the unit read a water temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit, causing it to attempt to hit the 80 degree Fahrenheit mark while continuing to heat up. I'm very skeptical of reviews myself and this is my first written review for a reason. If this product fails like mine did, it will kill your tank.
