These halogen bulbs are great. They shine very well, shine evenly and last a long time. When you receive them they look like used lightbulbs but they are not. This is how bases are made. Don't worry about the small cable detaching from the base. It's an electrical component and should be in place (don't unscrew - it screws in just fine). These bulbs work great with a digital timer. What many people don't realize is that LED lights typically do NOT work with a digital timer unless the timer is specifically designed for LED lights. These bulbs work with a digital timer and switch. If your light has a small rubberized ring inside, remove it from the blown bulb and put it on the new bulb before screwing it in. The small ring is used to insulate the electrical base etc. inside the lamp holder. You will love these lamps. Oh, by the way, they are hired by GE. If you like them, you'd better buy them now. If they leave, they won't come back!
