Review on ๐Ÿš˜ Enhanced Visibility Headlight Assembly for 2004-2008 Ford F150 F-150 with LED Tube DRL Headlamps, Sleek Black Housing and Amber Reflectors by Casey Tatum

About as bright as stock Ford OEM DRLs. Some wiring required for DRL.

Fits the light perfectly but as my model didn't have a DRL I had to fit a fuse tap on the switched source (fuse 18 is good, room to press in fuse box). You will need to remove some of the protective plates over the heatsink to route the wiring between the two sides and I highly recommend putting the wires in the conduits to protect them from chafing/shorting. The F150 cab has several grommets through which you can run a wire from the fuse box to the engine compartment. The negative wires were too short to reach the nearest ground points, so I had to solder on extension cords and ground clips. If you just want to follow the included instructions and just want to connect to the sidelight circuit, that's fine (and a lot easier), you just have to turn on the sidelights to turn on the DRLs. The DRL Light Kit only draws 0.8 amps, so don't overload the parking light fuse if you go this route) For the brightness comparison; He is pictured next to a Platinum F150 with standard DRLs. They are as bright as Ford's LED DRL strips. I added an extra layer of silicone around the edges of the lens to keep moisture out. TO UPDATE; The silicone didn't bond properly when I first sealed the assembly and after a heavy downpour water got into the right side light. Drilled a very small hole in the bottom of the bottom of the lens barrel to allow it to drain. It was perfect, as it was after weeks of heavy rain.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
