Review on The Thexton THE482 Fastener Removal Tool: Unlocking Efficiency and Precision by Erick Bowers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great idea but poor quality.

At first glance a great idea for removing stuck fasteners. Out of the box, setup is very easy. However, there is a problem when using the tool. The replacement tip is at the end of the tool. I don't care what you do, it can't be removed by hammering with a pneumatic tool. If, not if, you break the included Phillips head, you won't be able to replace the bit. I've tried everything from mechanical force to heating and removing the bit. There are no dice. So, in my opinion, this is a one-off tool. But I found a great alternative. (See image). With this setting you can use sockets and anything you want to use on a socket. Same idea, better execution. Much harder. This is called a 3/8 inch shake-n-break driver. I had better luck with this setup. Again, you can use sockets or bits. hope that helps.

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
