At $27 I was expecting a cheaper "feel" but they were better than I expected. The color is a bit shinier than I expected, but that's easily corrected with PlastiDip or light sanding with fine sandpaper. The 4 screws that come with the product are fitted with 4 rubber grommets on each side to prevent the light shield from touching the taillight's plastic assembly, adding a nice finishing touch. Can't mess up the installation, very simple, comes with a picture and step-by-step instructions, so even the most novice can install it by themselves. The metal seemed very strong, not easy to bend in any way, it would definitely protect against sticks or large debris coming up from behind. Basically you take an impact point and spread it out over the metal and 4 bushings. So you are dead wrong if you think this doesn't provide protection. I've propped up branches a few times that went up, for $27 it's great give you some peace of mind. They cover neither the headlights nor the reversing lights.
