Good value for money to fine tune needle downforce

I always set downforce old school (arm balance, no counterweight, then put in the recommended weight). It has served me well for many decades and many players. But as I started investing more money in better turntables and better cartridges, I wanted to get the most out of my gear, and matching downforce as closely as possible seemed like a good place to start. I used this Neotech device to measure my three different turntables. One was accurate and the other two were off by 0.1-0.2g. That's not much, but at least something. It's worth it for this small investment. The only thing that bothered me was that the measurement platform that the needle rests on (used to measure down force) is not exactly parallel to the surface of the disc as one might expect. The error may be 5-10 degrees. Does this lead to inaccurate readings? I can't say for sure, but I don't think it's a problem, and here's why: the device comes with a weight to confirm accuracy before you even bother putting a stylus on it to mount. My readings were accurate, so I tend to think the manufacturer has made up for the not-quite-parallel platform. You won't need to use this device often, but you'll be glad to have it.
