waste of money. Broken straight out of the box!

Complete scrap! The dimension keeps sneaking up. It starts at 0.00 and then slowly increases from zero on a scale of 0.03 to 0.10, then to 0.24 and so on until it reads "FULL". Remember that there is nothing on the scale and it lies flat without touching it. Tried calibrating, still the same. I've tried returning via Revain but they say it's not possible to return. Don't waste your money on it. Very disappointed!

Good buy: DJ equipment

The scale I received didn't work. It lit up but stayed at zero no matter what was put on the scale. The manual says that a calibration should only be done when something is wrong, so I tried to calibrate it. The calibration never completes. Probably just missed quality control. I contacted the seller through Revain and they sent a replacement very quickly. The new one works as expected and showed me that I had a slight increase in downforce despite following Audio-Technica's instructions for…

Worth any money to dive into the realm of Optimum

Didn't think I'd need it but it was an essential part of setting up my new turntable, arm and stylus. I had no idea what exactly I was planning to do. I'm new to this audiophile business and thought it would be easy to guess if there was enough weight to make a record sound good. For as little as $15 or whatever it costs, I can actually know that the recommended tracking/weight is set to the optimal value for a given pen. If you search the internet for your cartridge and needle, you will find…

Installed batteries from the kit, works right out of the box.

Works right out of the box, no calibration required. There were 3 button batteries in the box, you only need 2 and a calibration weight of 5 g. I put the batteries in, switched it on, put the included 5g weight on the scale, the scale showed exactly 5g. I placed the device on the record of my Pioneer PL-514, needle lowered to the target. After checking this stylus force scale, it turned out that my contact pressure was too high. This scale made it clear to me that the counterweight on my…

A must have for any turntable owner

Easy to use, beautifully packaged and a vast improvement over balance beam style hand force sensors. Setup is easy and I made sure to use a calibration weight before measuring my cartridge. The instructions could be a bit more detailed, but it's enough to get the job done. It worked great and really helped me set the right downforce that sounds better and is safer for your recordings. The cost is extremely reasonable (finally!) considering how many years digital sensors like this have often…

Good value for money to fine tune needle downforce

I always set downforce old school (arm balance, no counterweight, then put in the recommended weight). It has served me well for many decades and many players. But as I started investing more money in better turntables and better cartridges, I wanted to get the most out of my gear, and matching downforce as closely as possible seemed like a good place to start. I used this Neotech device to measure my three different turntables. One was accurate and the other two were off by 0.1-0.2g. That's…

Good product, caring seller

The scale is easy to use. Turn it on, let it automatically zero the tare weight, then gently lower the probe onto the scale to measure the downward force. It is so easy. The scale appears to be accurate to within 0.02 grams (see image) and I am now confident that my turntables are now running properly, in particular. my new/used Technics table with an old Stanton pickup that was originally set too heavy, DJ style. I noticed that the seller cares about customer satisfaction. The scale came with…

I'm updating my original review in light of new information. Initially I used an old digital scale that wasn't as accurate as this one (accurate to a tenth of a gram) to set the bearing pressure. I've gotten many conflicting readings between the two scales, but I realized that my other scales were so miscalibrated that I was getting incorrect readings (3-4 tenths of a gram down) for years, resulting in my vtf being set too high. It sounded good, but there are issues with cantilever flexing…

Works for turntables affected!

Good scales at minimal cost. The accuracy of the pressure setting of the needle with the tonearm on the turntable was checked using a scale. It turned out to be pretty accurate. If I hadn't received the scale I wouldn't have been able to check. It's also handy to be able to change the stylus pressure in small increments, something you can't do with the tonearm adjustment. A good product for those who suffer from turntables and can be a good gift for such a person. minuses. Poorly written and…
