My son will be 3 next month and has had Cat & Jack and Carters 3T since he was 2. I buy size 3 and size 4 to see which works best. He was the master of ceremonies at my cousin's wedding. We ended up mixing and matching two sizes. The size 4 shirt was huge so we had to go for a size 3 shirt. But the size 3 vest was insanely small, so we had to go for a size 4 vest. It served its purpose and after the ceremony he was in normal clothes and still went home with grandpa so we weren't looking for something that would be a big investment for us. I would recommend taking two sizes,
