Good products, bad interior

Bracketron is a great car phone/tablet mount. I've had several at this point and have found that a common and persistent problem is that the internal gears (the plastic gears) tend to fail fairly quickly. After the last one broke, I disassembled it and fixed it myself - you didn't have to, of course, but. The cheap plastic gears that open and close the width of the stand fail, and it's very frustrating when you can't press the release button and open the stand further to remove your phone. He seems locked in a cradle. You can remove it easily, but now you have no adjustment and the harder you press it, the smaller the "phone hole" becomes and you can't open it manually again. I think some aluminum gears would be better and last longer. Otherwise their design is amazing, they thought of some small things like swiveling feet at the base of the phone on the stand and more adjustable features than I've seen in other phone mounts. The sides of the stand are adjustable both laterally and vertically (for taller devices). The suction cup is insanely strong. It's never fallen off the windshield, and I drive about 60,000 miles a year for work. I have a second one that I've attached to a suction cup with a round magnet from Harbor Freight for a permanent connection, and I use it in the back of the van, magnetically attached to the van wall, for watching Netflix before bed. Works great and has great flexibility/adjustability/articulation.
