The locking mechanism is a simple threaded bolt that allows free rotation of the lock cylinder when the key is inserted. Once the bolt is loosened sufficiently, the two halves of the lock separate. The lock barrel is held in place with a simple o-ring and when it is removed the entire assembly can also be removed exposing the extremely thin pin plates. All you need to pick this lock is a simple flathead screwdriver and a hammer. The lock looks beautiful, but if someone starts to bother with it, the lock will probably give up immediately.
