I don't know how that can be true. But these do not work all USB ports, 4 ports on two computers, 2 USB 2.0 ports and the other two 3.0. 2 - one for hb steam, another for old thinkpad lenovo. All ports work with my USB 3.1 flash drive. I've tried this on several other computers. It worked with all three USB Type-C ports I tried and several USB 2.0 and 3.0 Type-A ports. It also worked with my phone. So that works the best. But I'd rather pay more for something that always works.
