The TC1 is not only a great tester, it's also just plain fun! But while it's fun to use, it's not a toy. That's a lot of test equipment in a very small, lightweight, inexpensive, and portable package! Please see the tests in the attached video. I have used this unit to test a VERY wide range of passive and active components. As an Electronics Engineer and longtime (>50yrs) ham radio operator, I really appreciated being able to use a small device to sift through my parts collection and find out exactly what type of part it is, if it's likely to be anything good and what its ratings were. I have found that the measurement accuracy is quite good, typically within 1% to 10% of readings obtained with more sophisticated dyno equipment. It's not perfect, but it's very good, very economical, very portable and very functional. In addition to measuring inductance, capacitance and resistance, it reads part of the output of an IR device. Identification of various active components in terms of their nature (transistor type, zener diode or conventional diode etc.), which pins are connected to which pins and elements such as HFE/Gain, Vf etc. . , are part of the packaging. If you have a set of components for identification and/or verification, try it - you will like it!
