*Update* Almost 2 years later and I still love this air conditioner. I remove the breather assembly in the winter and reinstall when needed. It still cools my house as expected. I still recommend it! On my face, I'll order another one for my very hot laundry 😁 ******************************** ** * ******* Sometimes online shopping is difficult because there are so many reviews everywhere. I'm so glad I ignored the negative reviews and bought this machine! Is it as quiet as with central air conditioning? No of course not. And you're not very smart when you expect it. When it works, I don't even have to turn up the volume on the TV. Our window unit was absolutely stunning and we could barely speak to each other even sitting next to each other on the couch. Forget the TV. So it was a pleasant surprise. I read so many reviews it was noisy. We placed it in the corner of the living room and aligned it with the center of the living room, which is about 15 feet by 30 feet. The sea faces the window and is well hidden by my curtains (and a few other things lol). I set it to 74 and the room cooled down within 10 minutes. The living room is longer than it is wide and we sit about 20 feet from the unit. The living room leads into the dining/kitchen area and I can feel it everywhere so I'd say it's cool enough. Pros: Attractive (bigger than a window unit) Portable Multifunctional (cools and dehumidifies) Cools quickly and silently Covers a fairly large area Remote control makes life easier for DIYers No unsightly window units to knock and block the view out of the window Cons: The window opening was closed wide for windows and we had to trim them. It would be nice if the manufacturer made a shorter panel. Overall, I am very satisfied with this device and can only recommend it.
