I bought this pump because my basement was slowly flooding, turns out the city sewer was clogged and we had rain for 3 consecutive days. The pump has a cord that is over 7 feet long, but to get to the nearest window I had to attach a 50 foot extension and tape the connection. I do not recommend anyone to use this method as the slightest mistake when applying the tape can result in an electric shock. The pump came with two different filter meshes, I chose the less restrictive mesh but I still had to check frequently to see if the inlet was clogging the inlet. There was over 30 inches of backwater so it was impossible to see if the filter was clogged or not.
