Review on πŸ–€ Black OFM Avenger Series Big and Tall Bonded Leather Executive Office Chair by Anne Wilson

Assembly is not easy; Design flaws and upgrades.

Two issues with the assembly of this otherwise comfortable chair and two issues with its design. First, attaching the armrests is not possible if you follow the instructions as the seat cannot be moved to ensure the screw holes in the armrests line up with the screw holes in the chair seat. I had to remove the two front screws holding the swivel mechanism to the chair's seat to align the screw holes. After completing this maneuver, I attempted to reattach the seat mechanism but found that the screws were now too short. So I replaced them with two slightly longer screws holding the back of the chair to the seat of the chair and it worked. So the second problem is that the geniuses who designed this chair should have put the screws the same length, 1.5 inches not 1.25 inches! Come on, lousy quarter inch? The base is very poorly designed, as another reviewer mentioned, with its legs protruding too far past the wheels. I've bumped into them a few times, but I haven't cut myself yet. There is no reason for such a design, neither functional nor aesthetic. The armrests are not padded enough, very thin padding, very uncomfortable. Update: The instructions say to tighten the bolts six months after reassembly, but about half of mine came loose after a month. use.Update: To avoid injury I taped the rubber pads at the ends of the legs - no more pressure points on the heels!Update: The chair creaks no matter how much silicone lube I spray on the swivel mechanism.Update: As others noted the padding on the front of the seat is uncomfortable because it is too thick. After using this chair for several years, the padding has thickened and is no longer as uncomfortable. Update: The cheap faux leather is now worn on the seat. Conclusion: a large armchair, comfortable after wearing it, but very poorly designed.
