Genuine GM key fobs last approximately 10 years, as do other Toyota key fobs. (We keep our cars for a long time.). Eventually the holes they attach to our key rings wear out and we lose one of them. Other interchangeable projectiles only last about a year and a half. Maybe that's why they sell them in 2 pieces. In any case, they serve their purpose, although they are difficult to assemble, probably due to insufficient casting accuracy. I had to trim the plastic a bit to fit the battery connector and it took a decent amount of force to get the pieces together, but it's fine now. I should mention that it would be nice to have a "+" sign on the battery box to indicate correct polarity, and some of the other bowls that Revain sell come with new batteries. Let's see how long they last; I hope they survive our 2002 Olds.
