I bought these cameras because I have two other Wansview cameras that I use indoors. Wanted to put a few outside and 4 packs seemed perfect. The cameras are designed for outdoor use and it seems that they can take a beating. Electrical connections are tight fitting and include waterproof grommets/cables. I have no concerns about water getting into the connectors. after i said it I still have mine installed under eaves etc to reduce direct sunlight (it gets hot in the south) and excess water. The installation is quite easy. All you have to do is set up your camera via the Wansview Cloud app to connect it to your WiFi. I personally don't like this step. Previous cameras allowed customization without apps. but that's life. The reason I don't like this is because I don't like/use the Wansview cloud app. You can only view 1 camera at a time in real time. Serious? But I see the cameras, not the app. Aside from the great experience with Wansview, I got them because they are ONVIF compliant. ONVIF is an open standard for transferring data over networks. Basically. This means you do NOT need to use the Wansview Cloud app to use the cameras. I personally use the Tinycam Pro app which allows me to view all my cameras at once. I was able to easily add the camera to the app via ONVIF profile. If you do this make sure you reserve an IP address on your router and you will also need to set up the camera in the Wansview Cloud App to enable ONVIF. Note that when using ONVIF you lose some of the great features like two-way audio. Finally, remember that electrical devices need power :) You need to connect them to 120V AC. So if you rely on it for security reasons, you can hire a contractor to install a dedicated power supply—otherwise, an attacker could easily turn off power to them. With all that has been said. these cameras are great. As an outdoor camera, the image quality is excellent. I have excellent bandwidth (both via Wansview cloud app and the third part via ONVIF) and the viewing angle needs to be at least 120 degrees - see my attached image! Night vision (again, see attached image) is great. I recommend to anyone who wants to create their own outdoor surveillance camera.
